This clinical trial investigates the effectiveness of a 50mcg/day transdermal estradiol patch compared with a placebo patch in treating symptoms of anorexia nervosa (AN). Building on preliminary evidence suggesting estradiol’s role in mood, cognition, bone health, and appetite regulation, this study aims to explore its therapeutic potential in addressing the multifaceted symptoms of AN.

Researchers are recruiting 50 female participants aged 16 and over with AN (including atypical and those in partial remission). Participation in this clinical trial requires 5-6 visits to the research site over a period of 3-6 months.
