Our Ambassadors

Rhys Nicholson
EDV Brand Ambassador

EDV is thrilled to welcome our first brand Ambassador: multi-award-winning Australian stand-up comedian, writer and actor Ryhs Nicholson. Rhys has spoken openly about their own lived experience of an eating disorder, and performed at EDV’s inaugural Gala Night fundraising event in 2023.

“Stepping into the role as an ambassador for Eating Disorders Victoria is a lovely privilege I don’t take lightly because it’s a cause very close to my heart (and the rest of my body really). EDV does such stellar work and doesn’t get nearly enough attention for it. I can’t bloody wait to get stuck into helping raise awareness for everything they do,” Rhys says.

We’re so grateful to Rhys for using their platform to raise awareness around eating disorders, and we look forward to our work alongside them as an EDV Ambassador.

Our volunteers

Eating Disorders Victoria (EDV) has more than 50 dedicated volunteers who provide people with information and support through the EDV Hub, share their lived experience at support groups and through our Stories of Recovery program, advocate for improvements in the sector, and perform administrative activities. EDV relies heavily on this wonderful contribution and without it, could not possibly deliver the scale of EDV services to those affected by an eating disorder and their family and friends.

Please note: EDV recruits volunteers on a needs basis. For more information on volunteering activities and opportunities at EDV, including how to become a volunteer with EDV, please see our volunteering page.

Funders and partners

EDV chooses to work with a range of partners to have a greater impact in raising awareness and support for our work. There are many reasons for us to work with others, including leveraging our existing organisational capacity, wanting to share information and raise awareness in the community, and generating funds to support what we do.
