Changes in EDV’s services

Over the last seven months, EDV has been rigorously reviewing how we can improve our peer services. We’re pleased to announce we will offer new group and one-on-one support options.

Our goal has been to make our services more adaptable to what individuals need, easier to access, and also to make the work meaningful for our peer workforce who generously contribute their own lived experience to our work.

The main change to existing services is most of the online support groups closing: VIVA, BLOOM, BEYOND, COSMO and REACH. Please note: The SE-ED group and Carer groups will continue. We are working proactively with everyone engaged in these groups to ensure continuity of care to our new services.

Our new offerings will be designed to cater to more people’s diverse needs, diagnoses, support preferences and life experiences. This includes new community groups, and new one-on-one peer support.

Access support through the changes

Change can bring up mixed emotions your supports and what’s next in your eating disorder treatment journey. EDV is here to support you.

In addition to using our new options, you can:

  • Contact the EDV Hub to learn what other EDV services are available to you.
    • NOTE: the Hub is not a crisis service. For urgent support, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.
  • Access our telehealth counsellors and nurses for brief intervention support, or help finding alternative support options (within EDV and/or elsewhere).
  • Attend our SE-ED group. If you identify as having a long-term eating disorder (10+ years) and are 18+, consider our SE-ED online support group sessions.
