The Board of Eating Disorders Victoria (EDV) are thrilled to announce that Belinda Caldwell, who has been Acting CEO of EDV for the past 12 months, has accepted the position of permanent CEO.
Board Chair, Christine Fyffe, said that Belinda’s appointment enables EDV to maintain the focus and energy that has enabled the organisation to not only survive, but to thrive during the challenges of COVID-19.
“With Belinda at the helm and the enthusiasm and knowledge she brings to the role, we are looking forward to expanding our services for all Victorians and carers who are affected by eating disorders, and to working towards more collaboration within the sector,” Christine said.
Since joining EDV in August 2019, Belinda has overseen $1.25million in additional funding from the Victorian Government to expand the Peer Mentoring Program and implement new programs specific to COVID-19 support. Under Belinda’s leadership, EDV has forged ahead with a digital transformation that has transitioned all IT infrastructure to the cloud, enabling EDV to deliver services seamlessly in a remote environment. Belinda has also led the implementation of an organisational CRM, which will enable EDV to capture stronger program data and deliver more tailored services to the community.
Since March, the EDV office has been closed to the public and all staff and volunteers have been working from home. Despite the challenges, all of EDV’s services have successfully transitioned to online formats and the EDV team continue to respond dynamically to the needs of the community during this unusual time.
“It is an absolute honour to be able to contribute to the journey of those with an eating disorder and their families through leading EDV at this time. With the support of a dedicated Board and a ‘”can do” team of staff and volunteers, I hope to ensure EDV continues to grow to be an essential element in the recovery journey and an essential partner in the broader sector,” Belinda said.
