Assessing the Influence of Caregiver Factors on FBT for Eating Disorders

Researchers at the University of New England are seeking caregivers of adolescents aged 6-18 in current or recent eating disorder treatment to participate in an online survey.

This study evaluates a new measure of the strengths and challenges caregivers experience during treatment for their child/adolescent’s eating disorder. A systematic review and Delphi study were conducted to develop the measure, designed to support family participation in treatment by identifying additional supports that may be beneficial.

Benefits of this research

This research creates a new assessment tool to help identify individual strengths and challenges faced by caregivers, so that additional therapeutic, practical or social supports may be offered. The intent is to support caregivers with additional resources which may assist them to participate in treatment to support their young person experiencing an eating disorder.

How to participate
